Jolene Philo
She connects with parents of kids with special needs at her blog, DifferentDream.com, and with her fiction audience at jolenephilo.com. She speaks about writing, special needs parenting, special needs ministry, and post-traumatic stress disorder around the country and internationally.
Before starting a freelance writing and speaking career in 2003, Jolene taught school for twenty-five years. Her undergraduate degree was in elementary education with a minor in learning disabilities, and she holds a master of science degree in effective teaching.
Jolene and her husband, Hiram, have two adult children and four grandchildren. They live in Polk City, Iowa, where they, along with their daughter and her family, launched a grand experiment in multi-generational living. When she’s not writing, Jolene enjoys walking, cooking, reading, and traveling.
