Sue Schlesman

Sue Schlesman is an award-winner author as well as a freelance writer, church minister, Christian speaker, and teacher. Sue won a Selah Award in 2020 for her nonfiction book Soulspeak: Praying Change into Unexpected. Sue also published a children’s novel, Best of Friends while she was in college. She has co-written several children’s books with Crystal Bowman.

In ministry and education for over 30 years, Sue has been teaching, preaching, leading, and speaking at local and foreign churches, schools, retreats, and conferences. She is the director of discipleship at her church, where her husband is lead pastor. Sue has been actively involved in ministries relating to children, women, families, fine arts, and discipleship.

As a literature teacher, substitute teacher, and ESL teacher, Sue has taught every grade from K-12. She has a B.A. in Creative Writing and a Master’s in Theology and Culture.

Sue’s vast knowledge of the Bible and education gives her a unique ability to unveil truth with clarity, excitement, humor, and passion. She has taken and led many mission trips around the world to work with the orphans, women, and the poor; she sponsors children in Ethiopia, Dominican Republic, and Togo.  Sue and her husband have three adult sons and two daughters-in-law.
