Dr. Audrey Davidheiser

Audrey Davidheiser wears many identities—psychologist, author, wife, friend—but at the core, she is a follower of Jesus Christ. Her relationship with the Lord motivates everything she does, including in her psychology and writing careers.

Dr. Davidheiser earned her MA in Theology and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary. She is licensed as a psychologist in California. She is also a certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist who completed all three levels of formal IFS training, and an IFSI-approved clinical consultant. She founded Aim for Breakthrough to help people in general, and the body of Christ in particular, heal from emotional pain.

Her private practice is dedicated to providing IFS therapy for trauma survivors, including those with religious trauma. Dr. Davidheiser also enjoys offering consultation for clinicians who aspire to develop proficiency in IFS. A true IFS aficionado, Dr. Davidheiser assists in trainings, consults with seasoned clinicians, and often presents at the annual IFS conference.

In 2013 she founded the Dream Center Counseling Center at the behest of the Los Angeles Dream Center. Her tenure there privileged Dr. Davidheiser to train future mental health professionals and treat trauma survivors. Throughout her career in psychology, she has treated close to 2,500 clients both directly and through supervising trainee therapists.

Dr. Davidheiser has been a regular writer for Crosswalk.com and a columnist for iBelieve.com and Open for Hope. She has been published on Christianity.com, Charisma Magazine, and the Christian Post. Her book on how IFS helps the grieving process, Grieving Wholeheartedly: Bringing Healing for Every Part of Your Soul, was published by InterVarsity Press in July 2025.

In her scant spare time Dr. Davidheiser enjoys reading Christian novels and conversion stories—of those whose lives forever changed after encountering the true God. Her inner critic claims she watches too many dog videos on social media.
