Shelly Beach

Shelly Beach won the Christy Award for her novel, Hallie’s Heart (Kregel 2007), and was a finalist for the ECPA Book of the Year Award for her nonfiction title, Precious Lord, Take My Hand (Discovery House 2007). Both books were her first in either genre. Shelly holds an M.R.E. from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary and is a writer, public speaker, communications consultant, and college writing instructor. Her devotionals, poetry, feature articles, and fiction have been published in a wide variety of secular and religious periodicals, including Focus on the Family and Moody Magazine.

Her debut contemporary Christian novel, Hallie’s Heart, followed by Morningsong (Kregel 2009), recount Mona Molen and her niece, Hallie’s, journey through life’s many trials. Her second book, Precious Lord, Take My Hand is a collection of meditations for caregivers, which is based on seven years caring for her father-in-law and parents in her home.

Ambushed by Grace (Discovery House 2008) explores spiritual formation through caregiving. And The Silent Seduction of Self-Talk: Conforming Deadly Thought Patterns to the Word of God (Moody 2009) helps readers in the spiritual disciplines of self-assessment, repentance, commitment, and transformation. Love Letters from the Edge with Wanda Sanchez (Kregel 2014) provides meditations for those struggling with brokenness, trauma, and the pain of life.

Shelly is the founder of the Riverview Christian Writers’ Workshop in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and is a member of the Advanced Writers and Speakers Association and the Christian Authors’ Network.
