Rebecca Grabill

Wonder, mystery, beauty. These three themes permeate Rebecca Grabill’s life and work. An award-winning author of books for children and adults, Rebecca is also a speaker, blogger, mama of six, homeschooler, and wife of a theologian-entrepreneur. She’s always searching for creative, practical, and most of all simple ways to capture the mystery and beauty of God, to turn everyday experiences into lasting memories with spiritual significance.

Part of embracing mystery entails an awareness of the incompleteness of the world. Rebecca recognizes daily that she lives in a broken world and does so imperfectly. She seeks to celebrate what’s beautiful and right and to inspire children and adults to embrace the mysterious wonder of God even in the midst of struggle.

While Rebecca focuses on children’s literature, having earned an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Hamline University, she also writes poetry and prose for adults. Her picture books have been placed with imprints of HarperCollins (Halloween Good Night 2017), Simon & Schuster (Violet and the Woof 2018), and Eerdmans Books for Young Readers (A Year With Mama Earth 2019).

Sweetened Condensed (Flying Ketchup Press 2019) is all at once a humorous, tender, honest, and challenging look at the highs and lows of motherhood, daughterhood, and life as a writer. All Rebecca’s work seeks to embrace a hurting world, celebrate beauty, confront seemingly answerless questions, and heal brokenness.
