A. L. Rogers

A.L. Rogers is a writer and editor who has worked in the book industry since 2007. He began his career hand-selling books at a local bookstore before moving into a marketing role for a major publisher. In 2013 he made the jump to editorial and has since acquired and edited books by bestselling authors, celebrities, first-timers, children’s book authors, and many others. He has worked for Baker Book House, Our Daily Bread Publishers, and HarperCollins Christian Publishers, Zondervan.

In addition to editing, he loves to write under his company name, Elwood House LLC. His fiction has appeared in Splickety Magazine, Catapult Magazine, on DailyScienceFiction.com, and as the Reader’s Choice Award winner in the Write Michigan Short Story contest. He has written nonfiction for various places on the web, including Christian meditations for Our Daily Journey and The Upper Room.

In 2017 he edited a handbook for writers, Jot That Down: Encouraging Essays for New Writers. He has since written two “as told to” true-life thrillers: Rescued for a Reason (Credo House 2021) and Wave by Wave (Credo House 2022). And he is the author of two recent books for kids, including Dive In! Devotions for Kids (Barbour 2020) and Kids’ Guide to Exploring the Bible: Tools, Techniques, and Tips for Digging into God’s Word (Barbour 2021).

He and his wife, Kristen, have two children and live in the Grand Rapids, Michigan, area.
