Jessie Clemence

Jessie Clemence lives and writes in Southwest Michigan. She is deeply interested in applying the teachings of Jesus to everyday, real, messy life. She reaches out to readers with a sense of humor, a little bit of sarcasm, and a willingness to be genuine in her struggles.

She’s the author of two non-fiction books. There’s a Green Plastic Monkey in My Purse (Discovery House 2013) addresses the struggles of parenting and our need for God’s help through every step of family life. Her second title, If I Plug My Ears, God Can’t Tell Me What to Do (Discovery House 2015), challenges believers to listen to God and then move with him where he leads.

Jessie is working on a new challenge—fiction. The characters in her novel, Dove and Lindy, reflect the same desire to be Christ-centered disciples in a messy, difficult world.

Jessie graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Family Studies. She and her husband, Eric, have two children. They love to read good books while jazz plays in the background and the kids run wild through the basement, howling and roughhousing.
