Judith Galblum Pex

Judith Galblum Pex was born in Washington, D.C., but has lived with her husband, John, in Eilat, Israel, since 1976. Twenty-four years ago they began the Shelter Hostel, a guest house for travelers from all over the world and a drop-in center for anyone searching for physical, emotional, or spiritual support. John, from Holland, is the pastor of the Eilat Congregation, a multi-cultural, non-denominational fellowship.

Judith has written numerous magazine articles, and in 2007 she published her first book, Walk the Land: A Journey on Foot through Israel, about which Precept Ministries President Kay Arthur said, “[This book] has brought a whole new dimension and depth to my understanding of Israel and its people.” It has since been translated and published in German and is in the process of being translated into Dutch and Hebrew.

Through the Shelter Hostel, Judith has sold over 1,000 copies of Walk the Land. While visiting the United States, she spoke about her book on Moody Radio, Good News Network Radio, and on IRN USA Radio News. She and John speak regularly to Christian groups visiting Eilat and elsewhere in Israel.

Judith and John are the parents of four grown children, two of whom are married. All the children live in Israel. In her free time Judith likes to read, hike, and camp in the mountains around Eilat, and to snorkel in the Red Sea.
