Gary and Lisa Heim

Gary and Lisa have been married for twenty-three years, and are the parents of two teenagers. They are passionate about seeing believers respond to the frustrations and disappointments of life by making Jesus the center and treasure of their lives.

Gary and Lisa both have a Masters degree in Biblical Counseling from Grace Theological Seminary, where they served an internship under noted Christian authors Dr. Larry Crabb and Dr. Dan B. Allender. Gary is a Limited Licensed Psychologist and Lisa is a Licensed Professional Counselor, both in the state of Michigan. They also served together as staff counselors for RBC Ministries in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Together, they have well over 25,000 hours of counseling experience.

Gary is an ordained minister, and spent ten years in a full-time private counseling practice before becoming Pastor of Small Groups and Discipleship at Blythefield Hills Baptist Church in Rockford, Michigan, where he has served for eleven years.

His pastoral ministries include teaching, preaching, leading and developing small groups, discipleship, counseling, and leadership development. He also serves as a retreat speaker, seminar leader, and adjunct professor at the Grand Rapids Theological Seminary.

Lisa is a former Associate Dean of Students for Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. For the last nineteen years, she has had a private counseling practice. Lisa has served as the Director of Women’s Ministries at her local church, and currently serves as an adult education teacher, retreat speaker, and small group leader. She is also an adjunct professor at the Grand Rapids Theological Seminary.
