Chris has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Central College (Pella, IA) and an MBA from Northern Iowa U (Cedar Falls, IA). He began his career working in product development in medical diagnostics for Bayer. In his capacity there, he wrote technical materials for new product development.
Chris left the corporate world in 1990 and graduated from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary in 1993 with a Master of Divinity degree. He graduated with honors and received the President’s Award and the Strauss Expository Preaching Award.

In January 2006 Chris received a Doctor of Ministry degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, having completed the preaching track under Haddon Robinson.
Chris has served as a youth pastor, senior pastor, and church planting pastor with Harvest Bible Chapel (Rolling Meadows, IL). He also served on the Advisory Board for the Association of Baptists for Worldwide Evangelism (ABWE).
