Sandra Peoples

Sandra Peoples (MDiv, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary) is one of the leading voices in the special-needs community. She is the editor for Key Ministry and The MOB Society. She is the author of two popular self-published books: Speechless: Finding God’s Grace in My Son’s Autism and Held: Learning to Live in God’s Grip. She also founded Special-Needs Parents Appreciation Month (which is celebrated in August).

Sandra and her husband Lee have two sons, one with level three autism. She also has a sister with Down syndrome, which gives her a life-long perspective on being in a special-needs family. Her goal in writing is to support and encourage special-needs parents so they never feel alone on this journey.

Sandra is the special-needs ministry coordinator at her church in suburban Houston and works for Key Ministry as the social media and community manager. Her post for Her.Meneutics (Christianity Today), “My Son’s Autism Changed Everything: Even Our Church,” was very popular and has opened up opportunities for Sandra to speak and write about her family’s experiences, including a radio interview for Family Life Today and a feature in Parenting Teens (LifeWay).
