Kim Harms

Kim Harms is the author of Life Reconstructed: Navigating the World of Mastectomies and Breast Reconstruction (2021). She has a degree in English from Iowa State University and two decades of freelance writing experience. Her breast cancer diagnosis in 2016 was the springboard for her book which includes input from medical professionals and other breast cancer survivors and examines the physical, emotional, psychological and relational impacts of undergoing mastectomies and breast reconstruction.

Kim is on the writing team at ibelieve.com, and her work as appeared in a wide variety of publications including Christianity Today, Chicken Soup for the Soul, Guideposts, Joyful Life Magazine, Wildfire Magazine, and Ticking Off Breast Cancer.

When she’s not writing or working the perfect part-time job at her local library, she enjoys going on adventures her family, helping her hubby with remodeling projects, reading lots of books, and endlessly tossing a tennis ball to a very energetic Springer Spaniel. She lives in a house tucked in the woods in Huxley, Iowa, with her husband Corey, and the youngest of their three sons.
