Elizabeth Shultz

Elizabeth (Liz) Shultz is a writer, mom, and mentor whose purpose is communicating God’s love and concern for all women. After an early divorce left her the single mother of a kindergarten-age daughter, Liz worked full time and attended college at night to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Her years of single parenting led her to seek God as a source of courage and hope, and she emerged from that experience with a commitment to teach other women how to find faith in God.

Liz has written Sunday school curriculum for Union Gospel Press, reading test passages for Iowa Testing Programs, interview profiles for Pioneer Communications, and Testimony Stories for Good Catch Publishing, twice winning the “Catch of the Month” award for her storytelling. She blogs at howtobeasinglemom.com and guest posts on Des Moines Moms Blog.

Currently, Liz is serving with her home church in the “Thriving Together” mentoring ministry. Ministry leaders pair young women with mature followers of Christ to meet for mutual encouragement and support. Liz meets regularly with her mentee to talk, pray together, and explore what it means to faithfully follow God. She is looking forward to expanding her outreach to other woman who are seeking intentional friendships and greater faith in Christ.
