David Kitz

David is the author of The Soldier Who Killed a King (Kregel Publishing, 2017). One of his earlier novels won the Word Award for Historical Fiction. His three volume devotional series Psalms 365: Develop a Life of Worship and Prayer (Elk Lake Publishing, Inc., 2020) won the Book of the Year Award from The Word Guild. David has authored, edited, or contributed to a dozen books, some of which have become bestsellers in the Canadian Christian market.

David is the chair of the board of The Word Guild, an association that promotes the work of Canadian Christian writers and the founder the Ottawa chapter of The Word Guild.

David is a Bible dramatist, an award-winning author, a convention speaker, and a retired public-school teacher. For over thirty years, he has served as an ordained minister with the Foursquare Gospel Church of Canada.

David has a master’s degree in Biblical Studies, in addition to bachelor’s degrees in both arts and education. His love for drama and storytelling is evident to all who have seen his Bible-based performances. For several years now, he has toured across Canada and into the United States with a variety of one-man plays for both adults and children. Though born and raised in Saskatchewan, David now lives in Canada’s capital, Ottawa, with his wife, Karen. They have two adult sons, Timothy, and Joshua, and one daughter-in-law, Jasmine.
