Andy Davidson

Andy M. Davidson, PsyD, is a former Navy Captain (O-6) and clinical psychologist who retired after twenty years of service. His experience with Special Operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, Guantanamo Bay, and Presidential Support Duty taught him how to work with those suffering from loss.  It wasn’t until he lost his oldest son that he realized the full psychological and spiritual effects of grief.

Andy and his wife, Lori, reside on the Outer Banks, North Carolina; their two surviving children and grandson live in Colorado and Texas.

Andy’s weekly blog at / ThroughLifeandLoss reaches those who are seeking answers to life’s most difficult questions. When Sunday Smiled (Elk Lake Publishing 2019) is an intimate look at a father’s grief as he hikes over 2,000 miles on the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. In addition to a novel that focuses on grief, he is currently working on a research-based book told through the stories of grief survivors. In addition to writing, Andy is a regular speaker at church and civic groups about grief and loss.
